From July 10th to 14th, the Bordeaux Club had the immense pleasure of hosting "La Grande Amitié" once again. This event marked a new milestone in our club's history, bringing together players from the United States, notably from New York, Tuxedo, and Newport, as well as members from Bordeaux and Paris. It was a first for us in Bordeaux, although this event had taken place three times in the 2000s. Reviving it was a great pleasure and a total success.
A Program Rich in Games and Activities
The week was filled with games and additional activities, creating a friendly and festive atmosphere. Here are some highlights from the program:
- Wednesday, July 10th: Welcome of the players and welcome BBQ. The guests had the opportunity to meet and get acquainted with the club and its facilities.
- Thursday, July 11th: A few USA/FRA matches in the morning, followed by an afternoon exploring the region with a visit to Château Batailley. Participants were able to taste some of their best wines and had the chance to dine in this exceptional setting.
- Friday, July 12th: Games in the morning followed by a discovery of the Arcachon basin. Our guests were able to dine on two traditional pinasses.
- Saturday, July 13th: Discovery of the Pau court and dinner in Bordeaux on a rooftop by the Garonne River.

A Friendly Atmosphere
The atmosphere throughout the event was exceptional. The players and guests enjoyed not only playing but also the many social and cultural activities that created strong and lasting bonds. The discovery of our beautiful Bordeaux region was also a highlight, leaving memorable experiences for all participants.

This event not only celebrated jeu de paume but also highlighted the camaraderie and friendship that unite the members of our international community. We hope it will be the first of a long series in Bordeaux, and we look forward to seeing you again for new adventures.
