From May 5 to 18, 2024, the World Masters of Jeu de Paume took place in Great Britain and the French players distinguished themselves!
Over 100 players from Australia, the USA, Great Britain and France took part in 14 individual events (singles and doubles from 50 to 80 years old) and 4 team events in Davis Cup-style formats.
The Hatfield, Middlesex and Hampton Court clubs hosted the team events and Queens's Club the individual competitions.
For the first time, the French were represented in all age categories (see photos).
France's over-50s team came a fine third thanks to their victory over Australia.
Charles Blanchot reached the 55+ singles final, losing only in the deciding set to American player Jeremy Wintersteen (see photo).
For the first time, a French player has won a title at the World Masters: Ivan Semenoff, who teamed up with Englishman Simon Shenkman to win the 60+ doubles final! (See photo).
Fierce battles on the courtq, fair play, camaraderie and a passion for sport made this exceptional event a resounding success.
In 2026, the World Masters will be held in Australia. Thanks to the experience they have gained, the French teams are more motivated than ever to fly the flag for France!
