Highlights from Margot de Hainaut Trophy

A wonderful date at the club

The 2025 Margot de Hainaut Trophy brought together four players: Brigitte du Bois de Saint Sevrin, Bernadette Bidouze, Typhanie Guérin, our three regular club members, and Romane Daquo, our intern, who took part for fun and experience. The day took place in a friendly atmosphere, with singles and doubles matches as well as the final against Lea, our president and world No. 2.

An intense and hard-fought final

In the singles competition, after all the players had faced each other, the final was ultimately contested between Brigitte and Lea in a thrilling three-set match. After Brigitte took the first set (6-1), Lea, our defending champion, came back strongly (6-0) and ultimately clinched victory in a nail-biting finish, 6-5, with the decisive final point keeping all spectators on the edge of their seats.

A balanced and suspenseful double

The doubles also provided an exciting spectacle, with Brigitte and Typhanie winning a close match 6-5, 6-5 against Bernadette and Romane, who defended well and never gave up until the very end. Congratulations to all the participants for their energy and competitive spirit!

Even though there were slightly fewer participants than usual this year, the day was a real success and full of good cheer. Between matches, a few loyal supporters were on hand to cheer on our players and create a great atmosphere at the club. At lunchtime, everyone gathered for a barbecue in the sunshine, and the day ended with a convivial dinner at the Opus34 restaurant, in a beautiful setting, with our two interns Stephen and Romane treating us to a mini private concert on the restaurant's piano. Well done to them!

So thank you all, and see you next year for the next edition!
