Gold Racket 2025
The Bordeaux Club had the honor of organizing this season's prestigious "Raquette d'Or", or the 1st Series Championship. This event was an exceptional opportunity for our members to admire top-level matches and support our local champions. In a field of eight players, Bordeaux was proudly represented by four of its own players, alongside four from Paris.
Results
While the top seeds passed their first rounds without too much difficulty, there was a fierce battle lasting over three hours between Léa Van Der Zwalmen and Nico Ovial, winner of the Silver earlier this year. Léa came out on top in four sets. For his part, Jean-Baptiste Rossi confirmed his fine form by winning in three tight sets against Clément Depreeuw.
The semi-finals offered an intense spectacle as Jean-Baptiste Rossi lost in four sets to Mathieu Sarlangue, who was showing signs of fatigue by the end of the match. The other semi-final was a three-hour marathon between Léa and Nicolas Victoir. In a match full of side changes, experience prevailed and Nicolas won in three sets (6/5 6/4 6/3).

An intense final
By the third day of competition, the players were feeling the fatigue of a demanding best-of-five tournament. The final drew large crowds of spectators who came to cheer on their favorites. Nicolas Victoir got off to a thunderous start, taking advantage of a Mathieu reduced by a sore left leg. Despite this, Mathieu tried to produce his best game, but Nicolas proved more solid and won his first title in three sets. This match was a real passing of the baton, Mathieu handing over the “virtual” Raquette d'Or to Nicolas after fourteen years of uncontested reign. An unrivalled record which illustrates the greatness of this champion, to whom we wish a speedy recovery.
Hotly contested Consolation round
Léa brought the Consolation round to and close after beating Jean-Baptiste Rossi (6/5 6/1), despite trailing 5/1 in the first set.
a friendly atmosphere
Beyond the athaletic dimension, this tournament provided a great opportunity for conviviality among players and their fans. The Saturday evening brought together over twenty participants in a local restaurant, punctuated by the victory of Les Bleus in the 6 Nations Tournament, which we celebrated together.
A huge thank you to the players, organizers and supporters for making this event such a success.
