L’Open d’Australie se tient en ce début d’année en Tasmanie, à Hobart.
Notre numéro 1 français, Matthieu Sarlangue s’est lancé dans la course avec pour objectif de participer à tous les grands tournois du Grand Chelem de la Paume (et autres).
L’US Open suivra fin janvier 2018…
1er match à Hobart, Matthieu Sarlangue a battu Rod McNaughtan 6/3 6/2 6/3.
En 1/4 de finale, il a défier la tête de série numéro 1, ce maitre du jeu, Champion du Monde pendant 20 ans, Rob Fahey. Excellent match de Matthieu qui s’incline 6/4 6/3 6/3.
