Jacques POLTON was simply a very nice man, a banker who played jeu de paume at the rue Lauriston club.
He loved the sport and one day decided to offer the club a silver platter as the prize for a tournament with players from the Rue Lauriston for a handicap tournament for players over 50 in his honor: the Jacques Polton Cup.
Later in life, he suffered from Parkinson's disease, but continued to play for a few years.
He continued to play for a few years, until he could no longer play. He passed away on December 10, 2012.
