Bordeaux Gets Bronzed: A Look Back at the French 3rd Series Championships

Last weekend, Bordeaux's Jeu de Paume was alive with the Bronze Racquet's 3rd Series French Championship. The atmosphere was electric, and the matches showcased our competitors' incredible passion and talent.

Recently joining the Bordeaux scene, Nicolas Ovial clinched the 3rd Series French Championship title in his very first real tennis tournament! Up against him was another Bordeaux local, Jean-Baptiste Rossi, known for his two formidable forehands. After an intense battle, Nicolas won 6/5 6/5 in a match that won't be forgotten any time soon.

In the doubles, the Ovial-Lagarde pair dominated, beating Jean-Baptiste Rossi & Bertrand Saint-Martin with a convincing 6/0 6/0 in the final. Their display was indeed a masterclass.

Renaud Besnard made his mark in the consolation tournament by winning the final against Pierre Blanchot with a score of 10/5.

One of the standout features of this edition was undoubtedly the emergence of new talents. Of the ten players competing, five had no prior real tennis experience less than a year ago, indicating that not only is the next generation coming up, but it's also promising.

A huge thank you to all participants, organizers, and of course, the supporters and volunteers for making this weekend unforgettable. Congratulations to our champions, and a special shout-out to those who traveled long distances to be with us. The passion for the game shines brighter than ever in Bordeaux!
