The Gould Eddy Cup celebrates its 100th anniversary + tournament results

First, the story: Created in 1922 as a tribute to Jay Gouldone of the best players of his time, by Spencer Eddy, the first president of the Société Sportive du Jeu de Paume et de Racquets, this competition is devoted to doubles games.

For this 100th edition, no fewer than 6 valiant teams battled it out over 2 days, offering the public some great games.

In the first quarter-final, the dynamic team of Julien Bey and Olivier Michel prevailed over the pair Alex Girod and Emmanuel Chelli. On the other side of the draw, the pairing of Vincent Letonturier and Sebastien Kreitz created the surprise of the tournament by overcoming a solid pairing of Laurent Marville and Tayt Baldwin. A hard-fought three-set encounter, marked by intense, strategic exchanges, finally went in Vincent and Seb's favor, demonstrating their determination and ability to rise to the challenge.

The first semi-final kept the crowd on its toes, as number 1 seeds Nicolas Victoir and Benjamin Jacquin were put through their paces by the formidable pairing of Vincent and Seb. The exceptional performance of Vincent and Seb, who are on the rise, augurs well for a brilliant competition for next weekend's silver racket.

The second semi-final was no exception, with a fierce three-set battle to determine the winners between Lea Van Der Zwalmen & Charlie Hurstel and the formidable team of Olivier and Julien. Each point added a palpable intensity to the atmosphere on the court.
